Walter P. Godfrey, Jr. is a Nationally Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Nationally Certified Fire Investigation Instructor and a Board Certified Criminal Defense Investigator. He has over 30 years of fire & explosion and over 40 years of investigative experience with structures, vessels, vehicles, and much more. He has investigated and testified in numerous fire cases involving multi-million dollar losses. His experience and expertise includes investigations into the circumstances surrounding the events and include the preparation and legal documentation, research, test burns and preparation of extensive and complete report findings, which include on site photography of residential and commercial structures, vehicles, and much more.
Robert Denaburg, P.E.
METALLURGICAL ENGINEER
Have you ever wondered what caused the Challenger to explode? Our Metallurgical Engineer Robert Denaburg did the failure analysis of the Solid Rocket Motors, Delta. He also did the failure analysis of two Atlas Centuar unmanned rockets and other failure analysis for NASA. Bob has been working with Fire Reconstruction Consultants for over 26 years. He has given many depositions and his court experience as an expert witness is of the highest caliber.

Gary Bassett

Gary Bassett is our Electrical Engineer and he too came to us with years of experience from NASA.
Gary Bassett , is an electrical engineer with an MBA and Gary brings a unique business approach to each case he works on. He has 25 years of failure analysis experience with NASA and the last four years as Chief of the NASA Electrical Failure Analysis Laboratory. Since he has been with Fire Reconstruction Consultants he has a proven track record of working with all kinds of failure analysis.

He is also nationally known for enhancing the video that lead to the capture of a child molester/killer in the death of a young Sarasota girl.
James provides an undeniable skillset to the many types of investigations provided by Fire Reconstruction Consultants, Inc. For accurately enhanced and/or enterpreted data to be utilized by Law Enforcement, Governments and/or the Legal Community, Jim Cain is a critical part of our team.
Chris A. Clausen, PH.D.
SENIOR CHEMICAL ANALYST
Chris Clausen, in addition to being a Chemical Analyst; provides an Accredited Laboratory for Chemical Testing, does Positive Identification of Samples, is a Technical Consultant and is a Research Chemist for an Oil Company & the U.S. Government. He is currently Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for the Department of Chemistry at the University of Central Florida. He is the Senior Chemist at the National Arson Center and the National Center for Forensic Chemistry.
Steve D. Van Meter
SECURITY PROGRAM EXPERT
Steve Van Meter our ROV Technician (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and still photographer, travels throughout the world training government personnel how to do underwater security systems. Steve worked at NASA for over 25 years and has worked with Fire Reconstruction Consultants, Inc. for the last 10 years.
Steve D. Van Meter a certified protection professional, is a hazardous material (hazmat) and bomb expert. He is highly experienced in site surveys and hazmat and bomb scene incident investigations, and is qualified as a hazmat first responder instructor.
He provides a number of technical services for Fire Reconstruction Consultants, including; Certified Protection Professional Training, Planning, Implementation and Management of Individualized Security Programs, Explosive Ordinance Demolition, Hazardous Materials Expert, Hazardous Materials Instructor, ROV Operations, Underwater Photographer and more. Mr. Van Meter has a distinguished history of working on both marine and land-based operations.
John Kechele

John is your man if you need a forensic videographer or if you just need one of the best video operators to do video work for you. John Kechele is our Underwater Videographer also. He is a highly skilled & experienced videographer, and is vital for the fire-reconstruction scene. For all your forensic video needs John Kechele is a 25 year veteran of various network broadcasts. He has won two Emmys and one Cleo for his cinematography and program editing. He also was a director/producer for motion picture & video productions involving documentations of air, sea & land based launch systems for NASA & the USAF at Cape Kennedy, Florida."
Bryan Brotheridge, P.E.
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Bryan Brotheridge provides consulting for Fire Reconstruction Consultants, and has 18 years experience in field construction and construction failure analysis, project management, civil and structural design and 9 years of design experience with extensive experience in steel and concrete structures. He can do structural condition inspections, preparation of assessments reports for rehabilitation & renovation of various structures and also can do hurricane damage assessments..
Bryan has the experience to determine if work performed and materials used were in accordance with requirements and intent of plans and specifications. He has international experience in London, Kuwait, Uganda and Sudan.
Ronald Strain
FIRE & EXPLOSION EXPERT
We are proud to announce that Ronald Strain, Nationally Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator is now with Fire/Reconstrution Consultants, Inc. Ron comes to us from New York and has investigated over 1,500 Fire and Explosion cases, including Hundreds of Vessels Fires when he was an Arson Detective with The Suffolk County Police Department. He was one of the Investigators on the TWA Flight 800 Investigation with the F.B.I. Task Force. Ron holds a BA degree and is also a Certified Instructor for the International Association of Marine Investigators.
Daniel Alan Denaburg
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Daniel Denaburg provides fundamental Mechanical Engineering practices to evaluate, reconstruct, and validate circumstances observed at accident scenes. Generate a detailed protocol to cover all the fundamentals of testing. This includes the research required to validate the testing procedures for fire tests in order to reconstruct the fire and document actual fire test data. Provide the results in a clear concise manner stating the facts from the data findings. Some responsibilities also include video editing of tapes into DVD’s in order to help communicate the fire test data.
Daniel has been with Fire/Reconstruction Consultants, Inc. since June of 2008.
