  • 2008 – Present: Structural Engineer Consultant to Fire/Reconstruction Consultants, Inc.

  • Consultant in structural failure analysis, field construction, project management, civil and structural design. Extensive experience in steel and concrete structures. Experience with structural condition inspections and preparation of assessment reports for rehabilitation and renovation of various structures and hurricane damage. Experienced to determine if work performed and materials used were in accordance with requirements and intent of plans, specifications and building codes.

  • Established Structural Design company to support new and renovation building projects.

  • Project Manager/Lead Structural Engineer, Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT), provide project management, design coordination and structural design of multiple air traffic control towers ranging in size from 40 feet to 102 feet. The various designs utilized an eight-sided structural steel cab supported on the tower shaft. The tower shaft designs have incorporated precast concrete, tilt-up construction and concentric steel-braced frame. ATCTs complete or under construction: SLF Tower & media building, Kennedy Space Center, Ormond Beach, Florida; Rogers, Arkansas; New Braunfels & Denton, Texas; Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Victorville, California. These projects involve coordination with customer and FAA and require knowledge of all disciplines involved in the projects.

  • OTHER PROJECTS INCLUDE:

  • Cessna Citation Service Center, supervised structural design for 100,000 square foot aircraft hangar facility at Orlando International Airport, Florida. Design included steel structure with 200-ft trusses.

  • Structural Designer, Airport Terminal Renovation, Melbourne International Airport, provided design, coordination and construction support for renovation of Melbourne International Airport departure lounge and food court and modification to security checkpoint.
  •  
  • Structural Design support on multiple facilities at KSC & CCAFS. Boeing SLC-37 flame trench study and repair recommendations using refractory concretes to stop further degradation of flame trench walls and ceiling. Earlier work and been performed on LC-39A Flame Deflector and trench for NASA. Facility support work on LC-17, LC-40, ITL area roads and storm water management at RIS and SRS buildings. Mevatec Multiple Object Tracking Radar (MOTR) tower design. Support work for LM on multiple communication towers for Eastern Range.

  • Design Review of plans and specifications for Orlando Executive Airport runway rehabilitation and Orlando International Airport ARFF facility. Structural Engineer in Review Team for Orange County Convention Center expansion project.

  • Construction Inspector, for South Terminal Complex, Phase I of Orlando International Airport civil works including duct banks, culverts and bridge inspection. Determined if the work performed and materials used were in accordance with requirements and intent of plans and specifications.


1988-1994: SITE MANAGMENT TEAM, JOHN ROWE-PARR ARCHITECTS LTD, U.K.


  • Project Manager, Haymarket Theatre, London; Banyan Palace Conference Centre, Kuwait; Diplomatic Residence, London. Provided project management for interior renovation of theatre over limited construction period, closely coordinated with subconsultants and owner for this Grade 1 listed historic building. Provided project coordination for rebuilding of Banyan Palace Conference Center in Kuwait City. This fast-track $4M construction project was completed on schedule, with construction and design work within 116 days immediately following Desert Strom. On-site project manager for new construction of diplomatic residence, The Boltons, London.


1982-1986: SITE ENGINEER, MOWLEM INTERNATIONAL LTD, U.K.


  • Various contracts in Uganda and Sudan. Supervision of mobilization and establishment of roadway contracts in Uganda, projects included Rehabilitation of Kampala City Roads & Kabale-Katuna new road construction. In Sudan, site management for civil works for 20 Km aerial ropeway at Atbara Cement Factory and control of materials and logistics in difficult environment. Works included heavy foundation work, concrete elevated platforms and conveyor bridges.
